Tasting of the most eloquently smokey Cabernet Sauvignon, the Kapnias (Smokey) Red Wine is made only from the best grapes from the vineyard Zygos (450 meters attitude), marking it as PGI wine. Zygos is is a selected vineyard with an average age of vines 35 years and very low yield (3300kg/ha) in Atalanti valley, Central Greece.
This Kapnias Red Wine 1.5L Cabernet Sauvignon has a high concentration in flavour and high acidity. Hatzimichalis ages this winefor 24 months in French oak barriques and for at least 12 months in the bottle. The result is the elegant and flavourful with a complex, full-body.

The oak is quite dominant but the fruity character and spices balance it out, creating a plethora of flavours in your palate. This complex Kapnias red wine is also high in tannins, whose combination creates a wonderful aftertaste as well. Its ageing potential gives the wine many potential tertiary aromas, including plum, tobacco, mushrooms and coffee.
