The Lion D’or – Xrysos Leon Mavroudi Red Wine 750ml, in Greek the wine is called Xrysos Leon “Golden Lion’ and the name highlights the greatness but nobility of the product. Made from the local Mavroudi grape variety of the vineyards located near the Platanotopos area in Kavala. This is marked as a PGI wine of Pangeon Appellation.
The fermentation is done in low temperatures for 5-6 years.
Tasting Notes: The wine has a rich red colour with a full palate, and strong tannins. Full body of red fruit aromas intensified with herbal notes and hints of tomato leaves.
Perfect Pairing: Grilled red meats, dishes with tomato/red sauce, and medium-aged cheeses.
ABV: 14.5%
Best served at 16-18C.
