Mavroudi is one of the oldest Greek grape varieties PDO, giving an exceptional red dry wine. Tsantali Winery has revived this ancient variety in vineyards in N. Greece since 1995. The latest vintage 2016, has gained two golden awards in European and International competitions. Mavroudi is rarely bottled as a single variety, however Tsantali Winery has achieved producing an exceptional single-varietal red dry Mavroudi wine. The wine has a deep ruby color, has rich body and sweet aromas of fresh red and black fruits, mainly berries. Mavroudi has soft tanines and aromatic nose with hints of spices such as liquorice, cinnamon and vanilla. Mavroudi matures for four months in barrels and another 4 months in the bottle before released. Vintage 2017. Best served at 16-18°C.
